I use AKG D112 for the Kick Drum as would any sane person. You wouldn’t use it with a flute would you? It has a low frequency response. If you want more snap with the kick, put another microphone with it. I guess a Shure SM 57 would be an extreme contrast to combine tracks. Other applications could: Bass Guitar, Upright Bass, Tuba… anything low. We have one of these mics.
